The 2011 District Hershey Track Meet will be held at Roller Field in Devils Lake on Wednesday, June 1, at 5:00 p.m. First and second place finishers in each event will be eligible to participate in the State Meet that will be held in Wahpeton on Saturday, June 18. Winners from the State Meet may have the opportunity to be a representative at the National Meet in Hershey, Pennsylvania in August. The Hershey’s Food Corporation will pay all expenses.

Age: 9-14 yrs. as of December 31, 2011

Entry Fee: $1.00 per participant
Equipment: The use of track shoes with or without spikes is not permitted and no starting blocks will be used.

AGES & EVENTS: Entrants may participate in a maximum of three events, either two track and one field event, or two field and one track event. (Relays are considered a track event.) Within each age group, boys compete with boys and girls will compete with girls.

REGISTRATION: Every participant must fill out a registration form in the Recreation Office by Tuesday, May 31, 2011.

RULES: Within each group, boys will compete with boys and girls will compete with girls. Children must compete in the state in which they reside. Spikes and starting blocks are not permitted. Shorts, t-shirts and shoes are the only required clothing. Winners of the district meet will participate in the state meet on Saturday, June 18, 2011 in Wahpeton. Winners of the state meet will have a chance to compete in the National Finals in Hershey, Pennsylvania where they receive all-expense-paid trips for four days. They will have the opportunity to visit a theme park, enjoy a dance and banquet and meet athletes from across the United States.
